10 Times Wrestling Fans Booed The Good Guys
5. The Crowd Turns On The Hulkster
Sticking with WrestleMania 37 for a moment, one of the biggest talking points to emerge was the audience's verbal evisceration of Hulk Hogan.
Hogan took the jeers in his stride, but then it's not the first time in his career he's been unexpectedly booed.
In the 1992 Royal Rumble, WWE found that even Hulkamania had its limits. After being thrown over the top rope by Sid Vicious, the Hulkster responded by throwing a tantrum at ringside and attempting to pull Sid out with him. The resulting distraction allowed Ric Flair - the biggest heel in the company - to dump Sid to the outside and win the match.
Thirty years and a lot of competition later, this still stands out as one of WWE's most baffling booking moments. Why on Earth did no one spot the obvious solution and have Sid and Hogan swap roles? No one likes a sore loser, and putting Sid in that role would have meant the crowd's boos would be aimed at him, and not at the biggest hero in the company.
And there we were thinking WWE's inability to book babyfaces was a new problem...
