10 Times WWE Babyfaces Were Heels Backstage

4. Chris Benoit

When Chris Benoit passed away, wrestlers quickly rallied on his ill-fated tribute show. Respects were paid by others that had worked alongside him, sharing stories of their reverence for his innate ability and intense-but-commendable demeanour.

Much of the goodwill evaporated as the grim truth became clearer, but several wrestlers were slightly more honest about the frazzled mind of Benoit long before it resulted in complete tragedy.

In a shoot interview shortly after their WWE release, Brian Kendrick and Paul London were darkly honest about the realities of spending time with 'The Rabid Wolverine', admitting that they always thought he was "crazy" despite his stoic public face.

In bolstering the anecdotal evidence, the duo recounted an odd story in which London leapt to the defence of an abused waitress in a restaurant.

The plot thickened because of course it did. Having watched the Cruiserweight do the honourable thing, Benoit stared intensely into London's soul and asked "Are you gonna f*ck her?!".

Though it didn't ultimately occur, London explained in detail how Chris and sidekick Jamie Noble tried to coerce him into having sex with her...whilst they watched from inside the hotel room wardrobe.
