10 Times WWE Creative RUINED Their Biggest Stars

4. Chris Jericho Is An Undisputed Lackey

"Business must be in the toilet if we're making Jericho the champion."

Those, according to Y2J, were the words of one Vince McMahon the day of Vengeance 2001. Hours before he was slated to beat both The Rock and Steve Austin in the same night, Jericho had to sit and hear his boss second-guess the biggest moment of his career. He should have known that title reign, Undisputed or not, was doomed.

After again beating Rock at Royal Rumble and Austin at No Way Out, Jericho was programmed against the recently-returned Triple H. There was just one problem: the WWF felt he needed more heat. That's why they aligned him with Stephanie McMahon. It doesn't explain why they turned the World Champion into a glorified butler.

Pre-WrestleMania X8, Jericho was written to look like a lackey for Steph. He fetched her coffee, walked her dog and generally did what he was told. In the process, the first ever Undisputed Champion played second fiddle to the (seemingly much more important) issues between Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

WWE's creative team circa 2002 would totally make the list. What a bunch of ass clowns, man.
