Roman Reigns recently sat down with Fox News to talk about his heel turn, which he said is something he has wanted to do for a while, among other things. Reigns also discussed some of his personal issues with the current product of which he is a key player.

He was critical of WWE’s current ThunderDome setup. On a personal level, he has found the lack of a live crowd “tough” as their reactions have always been his “measuring stick”. Even when crowd hated him, his reaction was “always way louder than everybody else’s”.

Though he recognised the present situation pulls out, “different layers to your performance, different attributes, […] different tools”. He recalled watching a couple of shows during his absence. Of these shows he gave the dismissive summary "Man, this is trash”. He was quick to shift blame from the wrestler’s themselves saying “This is no disrespect to what they were doing. They were busting their ass working really hard”.

Reigns believes that the way to revamp the show is for performers to be more acutely aware of their emotions in the ring, which can substitute for fan reactions. It's hard to argue with him.
