10 Times WWE Failed Roman Reigns

3. Not Turning Him Heel Post-Undertaker

The Undertaker was 'Mania 33's most sympathetic figure. Fans were thankful he was willing to wrestle through the pain barrier, and nobody wanted to see a legendary name struggle his way to the final bell like 'Taker did in Orlando. By putting such a veteran down, it made sense that Reigns was the natural heel.

Hell, WWE even presented him as such 24 hours later on Raw.

Standing in the middle of the ring and smirking his way through relentless heat from the Florida crowd, Reigns then stated that WWE's ring would be known as "my yard now" before throwing down the mic and leaving. If that's not a heel move, then we're not quite sure what is.

This was the chance to launch Roman into the stratosphere as Raw's top heel. He'd shown in that one segment that he could fill the role, and it was logical given fan hatred. WWE ignored this angle and continued bashing heads against brick walls by persevering with the idea that Reigns, over time, would be accepted by fans as a babyface.
