10 Times WWE Failed To Make Dean Ambrose 'The Guy'
6. Having Him Lose His Rivalry To Bray Wyatt
And speaking of 'The Eater Of Worlds' interference, this led to Dean's next rivalry. Which he also lost.
The former leader of The Wyatt Family is known for often losing his battles with top stars, such as John Cena, Randy Orton and you guessed it, Roman Reigns. So it doesn't bode well when you fall to a guy notorious for losing.
The war between the two climaxed with a TLC match, when Ambrose should have received redemption for being screwed over in the earlier cell match with Rollins. Nope. This was one of the few big match-ups where Bray scored a victory, all at the expense of Dean.
On top of the loss itself, Ambrose was made to look a fool with how he succumbed to defeat, with a monitor blowing up in his face (along with a lot of potential). It wouldn't have been so bad if this was all to give Wyatt a major push, but he went on to lose his next rivalry too, against The Undertaker.
Ultimately, this and his series with Rollins were both missed opportunities for Ambrose. He lost both his first rivalries since becoming a singles star post-Shield break up, while his ex-teammates had the luxury of winning the majority of theirs. It would have taken a lot to make up for so much damage so soon...
