10 Times WWE Fans Forced A Face Turn
1. The Rock
Just as they forced WWE to turn him heel after catching wind of his plans for a career in Hollywood, fans insisted Rock become a good guy for the first time in 1999.
They were seduced, mainly, by the man's unrivaled ability on the microphone, which often saw him elicit loud cheers - even when he was dressing down good guys. He was just too charismatic, too charming, to truly hate.
We got our wish soon after WrestleMania XV, when Rock got into a bust-up with Shane McMahon, leading to an official face turn and then a re-run of his feud with Triple H. It was as though they had read our minds.
And, really, they had. Though fans rejected the bland Rocky Maivia who debuted in the mid-90s, Dwayne Johnson's God-given ability to connect with an audience always made him a natural candidate for a switch to the good side. It was just a question of when, the answer to which being: as soon as his feud with Austin was in the history books.
