10 Times WWE Fans Saw It Coming But Still Lost Their Minds

1. Edge Returns (Royal Rumble 2020)

On this day we could see clearly that Edge was set to return... but did we care?

Not in the slightest.

The noise inside Minute Maid Park when Alter Bridge's Metalingus seared through the arena is something that most in attendance will never forget.

For weeks and months, fans had been daring to believe the constant rumours swirling around on the internet regarding the return of 'The Rated R Superstar' and the apparent three year contract he had signed with WWE as an active performer.

Surely his neck was beyond repair. Surely no doctor in their right mind would agree to clear him for competition. Surely we'd seen the last of the most decorated star in WWE history in his iconic trench coat/tights get-up.

Up until mid-2019 that all appeared to be true. But, then the momentum soon shifted towards his impending return becoming a reality and the fact that fans had a strong inkling this return was coming at the 2020 Royal Rumble didn't matter.

Even though - judging by the look on his face - Edge looked like the only surprised person in the stadium, the euphoric reaction he received proved that fans would have celebrated his return even if there'd been weeks of promo packages hinting at his re-emergence in the build up.

We were simply overjoyed to see him and the fact that we saw it coming did nothing to mask that.
