10 Times WWE Fans Saw It Coming But Still Lost Their Minds
7. Ronda Rousey Arrives (Royal Rumble 2018)
Ronda Rousey announcing her arrival on WWE programming at the 2018 Royal Rumble event was about as much of a given as Roman Reigns main eventing WrestleMania. It was always more than likely going to happen... admittedly not four years in a row, but you get my point.
In late 2017, reports had surfaced that Rousey was finalising her contract details with the company and that her expected debut match would come at that year's WrestleMania.
So, fans were definitely expecting her to pop up on the Road to WrestleMania at some point and the most logical site for her first appearance was at the yearly over-the-top-rope spectacle.
But, did that stop us pinching ourselves at the sight of 'The Baddest Woman on the Planet' strutting down to the ring?
OK, it was a tad cringey, but it did not stop us rubbing our eyes in disbelief.
One of the world's biggest combat stars was finally making her presence known in WWE as an active performer and her appearance sent fans into fantasy booking overdrive. Would she take on Charlotte Flair? Sasha Banks? Alexa Bliss?
As it turned out, she ended up in a sports entertainment-heavy tag match with Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and Kurt Angle - coincidentally the best match of that year's 'Mania' - but she still managed to make herself the hottest commodity in the women's division.
Yes, we knew she was on her way. However, that didn't stop us giddily celebrating the 'Rowdy' one's unbelievable presence in the arena on that fateful night in Philadelphia.
