10 Times WWE Fans Saw It Coming But Still Lost Their Minds
6. Triple H Enters The Royal Rumble (Royal Rumble 2016)
2015/16 was a tough time for WWE fans.
Roman Reigns had been forcefully stuffed down our throats for months on end and there weren't many other main event babyface players who we could grasp hold of as an alternative to 'The Big Dog'.
Then, in an attempt to conjure up some sincere support for him, the company framed Reigns as the ultimate underdog coming into that year's Royal Rumble match - forcing him to defend his WWE title in the match from the number 1 position.
Fans knew that Reigns wouldn't make it out of the event with his belt and this meant that whoever came out of the Rumble as champion would be his feuding buddy all the way to 'Mania 32.
Betting odds aside - which were ridiculous by the way - it was blatantly obvious who the company would have usurp Reigns on the night.
The very same guy he'd left on a stretcher a few months earlier - because, you know, babyface - Triple H.
Producing a pop to rival any other he'd experienced throughout his illustrious career, 'The Game' made a beeline for the ring and dumped out Reigns before winning the whole bloody thing.
Fans went berserk for the returning heel authority figure and celebrated the failure of the company's chosen top face.
2015/16 was often frustrating and predictable, but on this occasion the period at least produced a moment the audience were glad they could see coming.
