Brock Lesnar and Vince McMahon are two men who, when they want something, they absolutely get it. Lesnar demands higher pay and fewer appearances. McMahon is generally more than happy to meet 'The Beast's' demands, as his goal is to generate attention and revenue, and Lesnar has a knack for these things.

But these two stubborn old mules have always butted heads, usually towards the end of Lesnar's contracts.

At WrestleMania 20, Brock was far from professional as he phoned it in and mocked the fans. After 34, Lesnar famously hurled the Universal Championship at McMahon. The following Monday, WWE announced 'The Beast' had re-signed to defend his title at The Greatest Royal Rumble.

Most recently, Lesnar chose not to re-sign after WrestleMania 36. This was one of his quietest exits from WWE, but it did come with some controversy. It was rumored he was unhappy about having to travel and film due to the pandemic. Meanwhile, Paul Heyman argued he was happy being a farmer.

Either way, WWE yanked his merchandise and failed to renew the Lesnar trademark. It was as if he vanished and WWE shrugged its shoulders. Without a grand sendoff, the door remained open another return, but it was surely another that would end in less than favorable terms.
