The Revival were a team of natural in-ring technicians who weren't too shabby on the horn either. When the duo landed on the main roster, they were off to a strong start by defeating The New Day. After a handful of early injuries, though, Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson returned each time with a little less momentum.

When the pair sat down with the bigwigs to talk, they were promised a stronger presentation of both them and the tag team division. Neither of those promises ever came true and lost their appeal after a while.

The team was reduced to shaving backs, jobbing to The Lucha House Party, and suffering from Ucey Hot burns. Giving them the straps did little to ease the pain either, as without a stronger division, the championships were rendered meaningless. Proposing The Revival become a comedy duo didn't sweeten the pot as much as it added salt to the wound.

Although they were denied their releases time and time again, The Revival were finally free to leave the company in 2020. Unfortunately, their departures didn't come without some hard feelings. Once WWE understood there was no chance of resigning the team, they were completely pulled from television until their release. The low blow might have hurt their paychecks, but considering their thoughts on WWE, FTR weren't too bothered by it in the end.
