10 Times WWE Got Babyfaces Wrong

1. Kane

Figure this one out.

Demonic supernatural force (and potential serial killer) Kane unmasks, sets announcers on fire in segments and causes untold chaos. In addition, he impregnates Lita seemingly against her will and mentally tortures her and boyfriend Matt Hardy for months. Then, Snitsky falls on Lita, causes a miscarriage and Kane is suddenly a good guy?

That's the yarn WWE tried to spin in 2004. They attempted to convince viewers that walking nightmare Kane was worth rooting for against that pregnancy-destroying, baby-punting Snitsky. To say it didn't work at all would be a gross understatement. Fans were unwilling to accept Kane as a goody after all he'd done.

Even Kane's weird run as a voice-box-using unofficial D-Generation X ally was easier to digest than this nonsense. It didn't take long before WWE realised that vengeful baby Kane wasn't working and returned him to the heel side.
