Following his unnecessary loss to Triple H at WrestleMania 31, Sting was kept off WWE programming for months. It might have been a smart way of making fans forget about the defeat, but at the same time, WWE was wasting one of their biggest names by not utilizing him at all. Finally, he resurfaced the night after SummerSlam and teased going after the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a moment that was very well-received by fans. The next week, he opened Raw to discuss his motives, but did so in the weakest fashion possible. Although he spent a solid four months feuding with The Authority earlier that year, he praised Triple H in his promo, calling Seth Rollins "half the man he is." It came off as such stupid logic considering The Game had to use a sledgehammer and all of D-Generation X to lead him to victory at WrestleMania. Sting's delivery was excellent, but the content was atrocious and flawed. If anything, it did more to get fans less excited about his pending title match with Rollins at Night of Champions.
