Entrance themes are an intricate and essential part of what makes or breaks a wrestler. They set the tone for a Superstar and get the fans amped to see one of their favorites in action. Whenever Sting would debut in WWE, there was a strong belief among fans that he would use his old entrance music from his WCW days. In fact, it was used in the commercial to promote his inclusion in the WWE 2K15 video game, so it was only logical after all. Despite that, he came in to WWE with an all-new song upon his debut at the 2014 Survivor Series pay-per-view. It didn't take away from the moment of his long awaited arrival whatsoever, but it was a small touch that made fans of his from decades earlier feel a disconnect with him. It's clear WWE likes to have a handle on everything, but they own the rights to Sting's original entrance song. Plus, it was ten times cooler than what he has now, but perhaps WWE wanted to put their own spin on it as they tend to do.
