6. Mickie James Was Treated Like She Was "Old" Before Being Released From The Company
The mighty Mickie James is currently 43 years-old.
This means she's actually younger than Bobby Lashley, Brock Lesnar, Rey Mysterio, and AJ Styles.
But whereas those dudes have all still very much found themselves near the top of the WWE card over the last few years, the former WWE Women's Champion was constantly made to feel as though she was too "old" to be competing for titles during her last proper WWE run.
According to James herself when speaking on the Grown Ass Women podcast, the future Hall of Famer kept feeling as though the company wanted her to retire and become an agent before she was ultimately released in April 2021.
On top of this dumb WWE logic and clear ageism towards James, the star also infamously had her belongings returned to her in a trash bag post-release, with that move leading to the firing of Mark Carrano after he was blamed for the incident.
James defiantly went on to prove to her former employers just how much she still had to offer in-between the ropes in the time since her WWE departure, winning Knockouts gold, surprisingly popping back up in the Royal Rumble holding that Impact Championship, and embarking on an epic Last Rodeo run.
But this influential star isn't the only talent who has found themselves on the receiving end of some bizarre WWE logic when it comes to age...
