10 Times WWE Ruined Their Own Ideas IMMEDIATELY

6. The Punjabi Prison

Idea: The Undertaker has his Casket Match (possibly also Hell In A Cell and Buried Alive), Mankind had his Boiler Room Brawl, Ken Shamrock had the Lion's Den and even Henry O. Godwinn had that Hog Pen abomination. So, maybe it was a given that WWE would gift The Great Khali his own match by way of the Punjabi Prison.

How It Was Ruined: Right before he was set to tangle with 'Taker at Great American Bash 2006, Khali was struck down by injury and couldn't make the pay-per-view. That left WWE in a bit of a hole, but they decided to press on and replace one giant with another.

Big Show got the nod.

It doesn't take a genius to work out why this sucked. Khali, the guy that bamboo cage was created for, was nowhere to be found. Instead, Show and The Undertaker worked for 21 looooooong minutes. Their match, the awkwardness of the structure and Khali's cancellation killed the gimmick immediately.
