10 Times WWE Sabotaged WCW Wrestlers

1. Sting: WrestleMania 31

Given the amount of years that the premier icon of WCW stayed away from WWE, it's hard to argue that there was a bigger victim of WWE's political sabotage than Sting in 2015.

Steve Borden had conversations with Vince McMahon about joining WWE numerous times dating back to the 1990s. Each time before, Sting elected to sign with the competition, whether it was WCW or TNA, but finally agreed to terms with WWE in 2014.

At WrestleMania 31, a visibly nervous Sting participated in his first WrestleMania match after over 25 years in the business. After multiple crowd-pleasing run-ins from the nWo, D-Generation X, and Shawn Michaels, the finish came when Triple H leveled Sting with a sledgehammer, cheating to get the victory.

After waiting 25+ years to come to WWE for fear of not being booked right (amongst other reasons), Sting's first WWE match was a loss to the semi-retired Triple H, but that wasn't even the worst part. Sting's fears were realized in the post-match confrontation when, after having his WWE and WrestleMania debut ruined because of Triple H's sledgehammer, Sting shook The Game's hand.

WHAT?!?!

At that point, it was crystal clear that this was just Vince McMahon (and now Paul Levesque's) latest reminder to everyone watching that WWE won the war and that WCW as dead and buried.
