10 Times WWE Stars Made A Mockery Of Their Own Angles

5. The Kliq/Triple H

Curtain Call
WWE

Triple H was not one of the most important figures on WWE's corporate ladder when he almost committed career suicide in May 1996. Nah, he was 'Connecticut Blueblood' Hunter Hearst Helmsley, and he was a mere midcarder next to major stars like Shawn Michaels, Diesel and Razor Ramon.

That quartet notably broke character to hug in-ring during one MSG house show, and it caused a meltdown amongst old-timers behind the scenes. Kevin Nash and Scott Hall were off to WCW, so they couldn't be punished, and Shawn was exempt because of his importance to the WWF cause. That left Hunter to take the rap.

He'd made a mockery of his own presentation as a snooty heel.

Admittedly, this one is a bit different. It doesn't pinpoint one exact storyline, but rather someone's overall gimmick as a whole. Still, it counts, 'cause Triple H nearly destroyed his run in the promotion before it really got started, and he didn't endear himself to the old guard by publicly breaking character.
