2. Randy Orton Gets Some Help From Triple H In 2013
This one is still fresh in our minds because it happened one year ago and it was also an instance where somebody went corporate to become the WWE Champion. Randy Orton was a babyface from early 2010 until SummerSlam 2013. It seemed like while he was a face all everybody wanted to do was try to guess when he would go heel. There were so many rumors about when Orton might turn, yet he stayed as a face mostly on the Smackdown brand and then once the brand extension ended he was on both shows. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5vRQB44BRw The time was right for Orton's turn at SummerSlam 2013 when Triple H, who was the special ref that night, hit a Pedigree on Daniel Bryan and Orton cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Bryan to become the WWE Champion while also aligning with Triple H again. The next night on Raw, Hunter along with Stephanie welcomed Orton back as a heel and The Authority Era began with Orton as the new WWE Champion. That turn by Orton was obvious in a lot of ways, but it was still well done. Orton was ready to go heel again, the fans were ready to boo him and he deserved to be in the spot as the top heel one more time. It was a PPV ending that we're never going to forget.
