10 Times WWE Stipulations Meant Nothing

Remember the lockbox? Well, neither do WWE. In fact, they seemed to remember nothing about this match and its stipulation, apart from Shane’s ludicrous dive off the cell.

In 2016, we witnessed one of the biggest pops anyone had ever heard when Here Comes the Money was heard in a WWE arena for the first time in over half a decade.

Shane McMahon made a momentous return to WWE and straight away got in his dad’s face. He threatened to reveal Vince’s darkest secrets to the entire world if he did not get what he wanted; control of Monday Night RAW. As you can imagine, Vince wasn’t too thrilled with the idea and instead offered Shane the chance to win his rights. His proposition: a Hell in a Cell match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania.

This whole thing was odd from the very get-go. Why did Shane accept this when he had the lockbox as his bargaining chip? Why would The Undertaker want to accept this match when he had nothing to gain from it? The worst however was yet to come.

After 'Taker won the match which lasted over 32 minutes, the next night on RAW Vince simply awarded Shane control of the show just because he was suddenly affectionate towards his offspring. This temporary control soon became permanent and Shane was declared as one of the Commissioners of the two shows following the brand split. All that build-up for absolutely nothing.
