10 Times WWE Totally Fooled The IWC
1. Seth Rollins Cashes In
Few wrestlers have ever attracted such vociferous hatred from the IWC as Roman Reigns, who remains the most divisive performer in the world today. Thus, on a minority of fans were looking forward to WrestleMania 31, which was widely presumed to be his grand coronation as WWE Champion following a dismal Royal Rumble victory a few months prior.
His match with Brock Lesnar turned out to be a modern classic, and one of the best of Reigns' career, but it was impossible to watch without an impending sense of dread. The conclusion seemed inevitable: Roman would have his hand raised in the end, and the IWC would head straight to Reddit, cursing the company's colossal mistake.
But instead of ending in misery, WrestleMania 31's conclusion went in the complete opposite direction. Seth Rollins ran down with his Money In The Bank briefcase, cashed it in, and left the Levi's Stadium with the WWE Championship in his clutches, saving the fans from the prospect of Roman's grim coronation.
The jubilation came primarily from the crowd's disdain for Reigns, but it didn't matter. An overwhelming majority had been conned into believing that Roman would walk away with the title, and the swerve tasted sweeter than the finest honey.
