10 Times WWE Totally Fooled The IWC

2. Brock Lesnar Beats The Streak

Most fans considered The Undertaker's long-standing WrestleMania winning streak immortal. 'The Deadman's' 21-0 run seemed unbreakable, and after years of dominance on WWE's biggest stage, there was no chance that the company would let it fall by a non-committal part-timer's hand at WrestleMania XXX. Brock Lesnar would walk into New Orleans, fall to 'The Phenom,' and The Streak would continue.

Everyone was convinced that this was the script. It didn't matter if you were a casual fan, of someone with thousands of dollars worth of DVDs, t-shirts, and action figures scattered around your home. Brock Lesnar was going to lose to The Undertaker, and there was absolutely nothing that could change your mind.

Thus, WWE's decision to put Lesnar over 'Taker provoked mass shock among the WWE faithful. The Superdome crowd were silenced, with many of the audience's dumbfounded faces immediately becoming memes, and their reaction was reflected online. Social media and message boards were flooded by angry, confused WWE fans who had no idea what to make of the outcome, and while the initial reaction soon evolved into a discussion of whether or not WWE had made the right decision, few fans weren't foxed at the time.
