8. Goldberg Returns In 2016

Fans who saw Goldberg Vs. Brock Lesnar on March 14, 2004 at WrestleMania XX were left with a sense of bitter disappointment. The match was phoned in, both stars were on the way out, and special guest referee "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was made the star.

More than a decade later, Paul Heyman was calling out Big Bad Bill on Raw. Like in Hollywood, it was time for a legacy sequel.

Bill accepted the challenge and they met at Survivor Series. Lesnar was at his peak: he'd already ended The Steak, demolished John Cena, and hadn't been pinned for over three years.

Squashed.

Goldberg destroyed the Beast Incarnate and he was back. This wasn't just a cameo, it was a brand new Goldberg adventure.

Like everybody's favourite 80s fighter pilot in Top Gun: Maverick, old boy Bill was able to come back and school the latest WWE superstars too. He took the Universal Championship from Kevin Owens, then went into WrestleMania 33 for a rematch with Brock.

Despite some losses here and there, Goldberg took the W in matches against Dolph ZIggler, "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt, and Bobby Lashley on his way to proving that age is just a number.

Some might say that unlike Tom Cruise, he couldn't do his own stunts anymore, but he still let Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre, and Roman Reigns go over him to help setup the new cast on their adventures.

When I'm not trying my hardest to visit all 50 U.S. states, I'm listening to music from the 80s, watching TV from the 90s, and reminiscing about growing up in the 00s. I'm currently living in Melbourne, Australia so WWE premium live events are on Sunday afternoons for me; the absolute dream.
