10 Times WWE Was Pure Cinema

6. Fake Diesel And Razor Ramon

WWE

You did read the title correctly.

This one is more cinema than wrestling because it's something you're more likely to see in a film.

When Kevin Nash and Scott Hall decided to go to pastures new at the end of their contracts, WWE lost two of its biggest characters.

Or did they.

How often has an actor decided to leave a franchise, been fired for wanting a pay rise, or just not been available to make more movies? Do you question it when a new James Bond actor is cast, or do you carry on living your life? Exactly! So, why shouldn't Vince McMahon try it in WWE?

There's so many reasons why this doesn't translate to wrestling.

Firstly, WWE is supposed to be real. Everybody knows that it's not, but the fact that it's filmed live makes it different to what fans see when they go to the cinema.

Jim Ross reintroducing Diesel and Razor Ramon was hilarious, but it didn't work at all. The very notion that WWE could simply give the character to somebody else was laughable, yet it happens all the time in Hollywood.

This was pure cinema for all the wrong reasons, but it's still something that you see all the time because actors don't own their characters like wrestlers do. It's the sports side that does it: Manchester United couldn't handover the character of Cristiano Ronaldo to a 16-year-old footballer because he left to play in Saudi Arabia!

When I'm not trying my hardest to visit all 50 U.S. states, I'm listening to music from the 80s, watching TV from the 90s, and reminiscing about growing up in the 00s. I'm currently living in Melbourne, Australia so WWE premium live events are on Sunday afternoons for me; the absolute dream.
