10 Times WWE Went Too Far

7. Big Racist Jinder

The early complaints surrounding Jinder Mahal's WWE Championship reign were simple: "this guy sucks in the ring, moves like a broken action figure with his limbs glued in-place, can't really talk, and was typecast as a jobber a long time ago." These things are subjective, but this was the majority opinion.

Even 'The Modern Day Maharaja's' staunchest defenders found their stance waning during the Shinsuke Nakamura feud, however. The early days were fine, as the assumption was that Nakamura was there to end the drudgery, and eventually capture the WWE Championship in a heroic, brand-saving moment. That never came, though. Defeated on consecutive pay-per-views, Shinsuke was shuffled to the back of the pile, his once indomitable aura dented by a feud that painted him as a dork.

It's worst moments came in September, when, unbelievably, Mahal resorted to straight-up racism while addressing his Hell In A Cell opponent, mocking his trademark expressions, then claiming people of Nakamura's ethnicity "all rook the same."

A grotesque way to generate heat, it became an objective failure when the fans responded with chants of "that's too far."
