10 Times WWE Wrestlers DIDN'T Get Their Dream Match

7. Kurt Angle (Vs. Bret Hart)

When Kurt Angle first made his debut in 1998, he was fairly new to the world of professional wrestling. To prepare for whatever his new profession would entail, the Olympic Gold Medalist studied a library's worth of old WWE tapes, focusing on performers who would go on to become legends. One of them he took a liking to was Bret Hart, especially his work from the early 1990s.

The 'Olympic Hero' proposed a match against 'The Hitman' around 2003, but unfortunately, both the sports entertainment company and Hart shot it down due to the legend's deteriorating health and bad blood with management.

The 'True American Hero' understood why the match didn't occur, but the two of them in the ring would have certainly made for a once-in-a-lifetime classic. Unfortunately, what fans received upon Hart's return was a lackluster brawl with Mr McMahon, which if nothing else, was symbolic of The Chairman taking his lashings for all the hardship over the years.

It's a real shame the two in-ring technicians couldn't have faced off at least once in some capacity, especially since it's as much of a dream match for longtime fans as it is for the gold medalist.
