10 Times WWE Wrestlers DIDN'T Get Their Dream Match
6. Matt Riddle (Vs. Goldberg)
After Brock Lesnar ended The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak, Matt Riddle decided he wanted to be the wrestler who retired 'The Beast Incarnate.' He perhaps went too far when he reiterated the fact at every opportunity, but for the 'Original Bro,' defeating him was more of a goal more than a threat. Unfortunately, 'The Beast' took Riddle's jabs personally and advised him to stop mentioning his name, clarifying a match between them would never happen.
Understanding he rubbed Lesnar the wrong way, Riddle moved on with life. However, the other legend he wanted to dethrone was Goldberg. Unlike 'The Conquering Conqueror,' the NXT break-out wanted Goldberg for completely different reasons.
Part of the animosity stemmed from the fact Goldberg wasn't quite the mat technician in his prime, let alone his later years. Yet, he still returned to take some of the limelight. The other part was that he felt as though the WCW star was unsafe and dangerous, as he alluded to after 'Taker vs. Goldberg at Super ShowDown.
Nevertheless, Riddle still wants a match with Goldberg, claiming he could "redeem" the aging wrestler. Sadly, he fears the only way he could get the match is if ol' Billy gets to "murder" him and Riddle has to let it happen. Of course, Riddle believes "he couldn't do it in real life."
