10 Times WWE Wrestlers Stole Spotlight In Defeat

10. Christian (Vs. Diamond Dallas Page, WrestleMania X-8)

It was one of the all-time great pro wrestling temper tantrums. You can’t beat a good wig-out in defeat, and few were better than this. That it happened in an absolute nothing match that barely anyone remembers is beside the point. It happened, and it is worth remembering in all its glory.

Diamond Dallas Page and Christian fought over the WWE European Championship at WrestleMania X-8 in a match that was born out of Page’s new positivity, a mantra that had initially appealed to Christian until the former Brood man could no longer contain his frustration. DDP won the match, a six-minute thriller that approximately zero people remember.

The real story was the aftermath. DDP made it clear to Christian what had happened, and Christian reacted in kind. It was a WrestleMania-worthy tantrum, as the future Captain Charisma threw himself around the ring in a display of magnificent discontent. DDP’s WWE run was overshadowed at every turn, but nobody was too disappointed with this instance.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
