Becky Lynch is currently the biggest female wrestling star on the planet. The Man is one of the top stars in WWE period, a history-maker who was swept to the summit by that perfect combination; talent, hard work, audience adoration and absolute frustration. To be the man you have to beat the man, and Becky Lynch really is the man right now.

In the Lasskicker’s rise to prominence, it has been somewhat forgotten that the whole thing began with a loss and a poorly executed heel turn. Lynch was all set to challenge Carmella for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam 2018 when her good buddy Charlotte Flair managed to get herself added to the match. Flair went on to win the bout, pinning Lynch to pick up her second blue brand title.

Incensed, Lynch attacked Flair after the match before giving a yawn-inducing ‘you people are to blame’ speech on the next episode of TV. The audience wasn’t having it and continued to support Lynch in ever-increasing numbers, forcing WWE’s hand and kicking off The Man’s revolution in the process. And it all started with her shoulders being pinned to the mat.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
