2. Val Venis Gets Castrated
The 90s saw an incredible boom in the adult industry. For the first time, porn stars were treated as celebrities as the likes of Jenna Jameson became household names in pop culture. As wrestling's obligation is to mirror the times, it's only right that WWE had its own sex-themed superstar in the shape of Val Venis.
Naturally, this involved some bonkers storylines, but his feud with Kaientai is the peak of Val-related shenanigans. After making a sex tape with Kaientai manager Wally Yamaguchi's wife called 'Land of the Rising Venis', Yamaguchi became hellbent on revenge. This revenge could only be taken in the form of cutting off Val's penis, with his threat to The Big Valboski being to (sigh) "choppy choppy your pee pee".
After being turned on by his partner Taka Michinoku, Val was shown tied up in a backstage dressing room, where Yamaguchi would ostensibly cut off his manhood. This was followed up by a segment with infamous real-life castration victim, John Wayne Bobbit, in which Val revealed that his penis shrank due to stage fright and the sword missed its target.
