10 Times WWE's February PPV Was Better Than WrestleMania
10. No Way Out Of Texas (1998)
Pretty much all of the entries here are arguable, naturally. That's because WrestleMania's lineage is so long that everyone has their own favourites. There's little doubt that the main event of 'Mania XIV was classic, pitting Steve Austin opposite Shawn Michaels in the latter's last full match for over 4 years. On the rest of the card, though, there wasn't much to differentiate it from the previous month's pay-per-view. On February 15, 1998, the then-WWF presented 'No Way Out Of Texas: In Your House'. Amongst the fine bouts on the show were Taka Michinoku facing Pantera for the WWF Light-Heavyweight Title and a 10-man 'War Of Attrition' tag-team encounter. It was the main event that stole the spotlight, billed as a 'Non-Sanctioned' 8-man tag-team battle. Originally, Shawn Michaels had been scheduled for the bout, but he was replaced by Savio Vega (of all people) on the D-Generation X side of the match. They faced Austin, Owen Hart, Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie in a wild, out of control brawl. It was tremendously entertaining, even without Michaels' involvement.
