10 Times WWE's February PPV Was Better Than WrestleMania
8. No Way Out (2006)
In similar fashion, there were some matches at WrestleMania 22 which didn't really feel all that special. Notably, John Cena vs. Triple H was a fantastic main event, but The Undertaker vs. Mark Henry was a poor follow-up to what 'Taker had been doing the month before at No Way Out. On February 19, 2006, he contested a stirring battle with Kurt Angle on the February pay-per-view, and the pair weren't alone in producing magic. Chris Benoit's match with Booker T was awesome, as was a sweet encounter between Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio. Even a 9-way bout for the WWE Cruiserweight Title in the show-opening slot was profoundly enjoyable, despite its brevity. 'Mania did have its moments, such as Vince McMahon vs. Shawn Michaels and Edge vs. Mick Foley, but it wasn't exactly a better, more complete show than No Way Out. Indeed, Undertaker vs. Angle and Benoit vs. Booker T were as good as anything on the 'Grandest Stage Of Them All' that year. Going further, they were arguably better matches than 'Taker and Benoit's forays on the bigger pay-per-view.
