10 Times WWE's February PPV Was Better Than WrestleMania
7. No Way Out (2002)
There are two things routinely discussed when fans reflect on WrestleMania X-8 from 2002. One, Hulk Hogan's match against The Rock was great from a nostalgia point of view. Two, the main event featuring Triple H vs. Chris Jericho failed to end the show in a satisfying manner. The month before, things had been a little different. Speaking of The Rock, he put forth one of his best efforts when inside the ring against The Undertaker at No Way Out on February 17. More often than not, the pair had failed to really excite when working one another, but they clicked a little better on this pay-per-view. Similarly, Chris Jericho and Steve Austin rarely had great chemistry, but their main event was still better than either man's matches at 'Mania. At WrestleMania, Austin wrestled Scott Hall, who had just returned to the company as part of the nWo. Their imminent arrival was the main selling point of No Way Out, and it helped give the show a much grander feel overall. Aside from The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan, WrestleMania X-8 didn't have a lot going for it by comparison. No Way Out arguably wasn't that great, but it was a better show in full than 'Mania.
