10 Times You Couldn't Admit YOU WERE WRONG About WWE

8. Trolling Brock Lesnar & Goldberg

Roman Reigns
WWE

Looking back at WrestleMania XX almost 20 years on (feel old yet?) is interesting, but it's definitely tarnished by what happened next with guys like Chris Benoit and to Eddie Guerrero. Then, there's that infamous Brock Lesnar vs. Bill Goldberg clash that saw MSG reject both and only cheer guest referee Steve Austin.

In 2004, fans reasoned that the Garden was justified when bashing Brock and Bill. In retrospect, not so much. They wanted to leave WWE behind and try other things at the time. So what? Who says they had to continue being unhappy just to appease hardcore wrestling fans who decided to spit the dummy?

Lesnar and Goldberg might be larger-than-life mountains of muscles, but they're also human beings with real emotions, aspirations and lives of their own. They're not beholden to some nonsense idea that leaving WWE is akin to "selling out", or somehow a slap in the face to punters paying for tickets.

Ludicrous.
