10 Times You Thought Wrestlers Were Finished (& Were DEAD WRONG!)

Blonde bombshell Trish Stratus formally retired for the first time in 2006, but did pop back up here or there for matches in 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2018. Then, in 2019, Trish headhunted Charlotte Flair as the perfect opponent for her SummerSlam sendoff in Toronto, and all was right in retirement part two.

Until it wasn't.

Trish has been successful outside of wrestling since walking away from the full-time gig in '06. She's never especially needed WWE to keep her going, but Stratus realised something after the dust settled on that match with Flair: She had more gas in the tank and could contribute to company business tenfold with the right story.

Enter Becky Lynch, and enter Trish going heel for the first time in a long time. Her return to the good old days of villainous 'Stratusfaction' peaked in a steel cage vs. Becks at Payback 2023. After that, Stratus decided to hang up the boots again. Who knows if she'll ever launch a comeback? No-one would be gutted if she did, because Trish proved everyone who thought she was a goner wrong.
