10 Totally Embarrassing WWE Pyro Botches
8. Opening Pyro Causes A Blackout On Raw
The intro to Monday Night Raw during the Ruthless Aggression Era holds a special place in every wrestling fan's memories. The show would open up to an insane amount of pyro going off as The Union Underground's "Across The Nation" theme sounds off with the entire arena illuminated in the red theme.
WWE opened the 25 September 2006 episode of Raw in the same way as usual. However, it seems the pyro fried up the circuits, causing a blackout. Only the spotlights remained operational, and fans watching from home could still hear the commentators. However, Lilian Garcia's mic didn't work when she tried to announce the first match, but WWE fixed it up soon and decided to have a literal dark match open up the show.
Lita faced Candice Michelle in the opening contest with Edge as the special guest referee. It ended in 28 seconds after Edge speared Candice Michelle and gifted the win to Lita. As John Cena came out to save Michelle and confront Edge and Lita after the match, the lights came out one after the other, and the power was fully restored as they resumed after a commercial break.
