10 Totally Random Makeshift Tag Teams That Surprisingly Ruled

2. Dude Love & Stone Cold Steve Austin

After Steve Austin's fellow Tag Team Champion Shawn Michaels went down with an injury, the WWF knew it needed a replacement. Austin was in the midst of getting 'the push' and Titan officials saw this as an opportunity to further explore the Austin character. Mick Foley's alter-ego Mankind volunteered to step in in Michaels' place but Austin wanted 'nothing to do with the freak' and opted instead to go it alone against The British Bulldog and Owen Hart. Halfway through that match, however, Foley debuted another alter-ego, Dude Love. The logic was that Austin couldn't refuse the help of a cool cat like the Dude. Of course Austin didn't want the help of anybody, especially a hippie relic like Dude Love and their partnership was a rock one. The team came to an abrupt end when Austin suffered his serious neck injury at SummerSlam. For a brief time, however, they were a very entertaining double act.
