10 Totally Soul-Crushing WWE Title Changes

Another lengthy title reign carelessly thrown to the wolves, the WWE Tag Team straps were tossed back into the mixer when longstanding stalwarts Brian Kendrick and Paul London were undone by cartoon newcomers Deuce and Domino during a SmackDown taping desperate to match Raw's own shock title twist.

WWE's 2007 Italian viaggio had generated one of the biggest shocks in some time, with Santino Marella emerging as a humble crowd member on Monday's Milan Raw to dethrone Intercontinental Champion and 'Samoan Bulldozer' Umaga almost entirely thanks to the help of Bobby Lashley.

Keen to cling on to the frantic energy of Monday, the SmackDown taping the following night afforded the greasy 50s duo an unexpected victory following a spontaneous decision to punctuate London and Kendrick's impressive 331 day run.

The high flyers deserve more credit than they receive for stabilising the blue brand's chronic doubles division at the time, with MNM's 2006 collapse giving way to a rotten Legion of Doom retread and the makeshift pairing of Batista and Rey Mysterio before the Shawn Michaels trainees sunk their teeth in.

With the loss, brief interest in the division returned to stoic indifference as Deuce and Domino's act completely failed to inspire. Trapped in the doghouse with management, London and Kendrick were drafted to Monday Night Raw soon after, and controversially Pedigree'd by Triple H just seconds after running in to save him from a beatdown.
