10 Toughest WWE Superstars Of The 21st Century

6. Daniel Bryan

Proving that you don't have to have a long list of amateur credentials to be a tough guy in pro wrestling, Daniel Bryan is the prime example of someone who doesn't know how to quit.

This is a man that suffered a detached retina in a bout with Takeshi Morishima and still fought on for 20 minutes afterwards. That's 20 minutes of bruising violence against one of the most physical wrestlers in the world... with a detached retina. Needless to say, Bryan is a man that prides himself on his work.

This fact was proven once again, when he suffered a stinger in a match with Randy Orton on Raw. When the referee called the match to an abrupt end at the insistence of Triple H, Bryan was furious, and the former 'American Dragon' was fired up when he returned backstage. Bryan confronted 'The Game' with a ballsy tirade of F-bombs in protest and the two almost came to blows as a result.

Even with seizures, recurrent neck issues and brain trauma all imploring him to call it quits, DB still wanted to carry on wrestling. For his own safety, it took WWE's insistence to keep him out of the ring and he was eventually forced into retirement in 2016.
