10 Trades WWE & AEW Must Make In 2024

6. Wardlow To WWE

This has to happen before AEW life drives Wardlow daft.

Tony Khan's start/stop push mentality has been a real problem when it comes to MJF's old bodyguard. Any hopes of Wardlow becoming a breakout star worthy of main event considerations were dashed by poor booking choices and a baffling lack of consistency with the TNT Title.

Recently, Wardlow has been threatening old boss Friedman and vowing revenge, but it remains to be seen if that'll revive his flagging fortunes in AEW. On paper, Wardlow has everything WWE would want in a pro wrestler; he's in his physical prime, moves well for a bigger dude, and does well enough on the mic when material is straightforward and punchy.

At 35, it's definitely time for Wardlow to see if there's anything for him outside AEW. The stunning lack of stability his character has suffered through on programming is painful to watch as a fan. Let's see if 'Papa H' can do anything with him.
