10 UFC Fighters That Would Make Great Pro Wrestlers

6. Jorge Masvidal

After years in the MMA equivalent of the midcard, Jorge Masvidal had a rebirth of sorts during a reality TV stint in the Dominican Republic. Upon returning to the States, ‘Gamebred’ informed his coach Dan Lambert that he wanted to start “baptising” his opponents.

2019 proved to be the year of the former street fighter. After dismantling two Brits in Darren Till and Leon Edwards in one night (on UK soil no less), Masvidal destroyed the Ben Askren hype train with a flying knee. He closed out the year as BMF champion (amazingly, there is no Bad Motherf***er division just yet).

It appears Masvidal may be gearing up for a squared circle move down the line. His recent appearances on AEW Rampage revealed his likely finisher: the knee that took Askren’s fighting spirit away in five seconds two years ago.

Charismatic and hard as nails, Masvidal has proven to be an exceptional draw for the UFC in recent years. With back-to-back losses to unstoppable welterweight champ Kamaru Usman and a cancelled Edwards fight to his name, no one’s quite sure what’s next for ‘Gamebred’.

If he does relocate to the squared circle, he has the potential to catch fire with fans, His ‘Street Jesus’ style could work neatly as a dark but sympathetic babyface figure, taking the fight to anyone who so much as eyeballs him. Alternatively, it could also work as an aggressive, over-confident heel persona.

Either way, Masvidal’s trash talk, athleticism and colourful fashion sense could all work like a charm in pro wrestling.
