10 UFC Fights That Could Soon Break Records
6. Conor McGregor Vs. Kamaru Usman
Poor Kamaru Usman.
He's had the mother of all targets slapped on his back after finally making it to the top of the Welterweight mountain and Conor McGregor isn't a man who likes to miss.
However, he is a man who likes to break records and - as we mentioned earlier - in Usman's Welterweight title, there lies the chance to break yet another.
Now, before McGregor took on Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone at UFC 246, many fans and critics were rightfully doubting the logic behind 'The Notorious' one taking on the physically imposing Usman. Mac had struggled putting away Nate Diaz at Welterweight a few years ago and faced with a fighter in that weight-class who relied more heavily on out-grappling/mauling opponents, similar to Khabib Nurmagomedov (another star McGregor didn't have much luck against), you couldn't see McGregor lasting long.
That was until we witnessed him dismantle Cerrone in 40 seconds flat and shoulder barge his way into the Welterweight title conversation.
McGregor is chasing history and a third title in a different weight class would cement him as one of the greats, if he hasn't been already.
As of writing, Dana White still seems to have his heart set on the Khabib/Conor II fight in the near-future. However, if things were to fall apart - and Khabib refuses the fight - McGregor/Usman could not only do decent business, but also lead to a record-breaking three titles in three different divisions honour for 'Mystic Mac'.
