10 UFC Fights That Happened Outside Of The Octagon

3. Conor McGregor Vs Nate Diaz (At Another Press Conference)

We arrive at two of our serial offenders' defining moment, in a series that holds the number 2 and 3 spots on the UFC's all time buys in PPV history.

Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz were brought together after Diaz had called out McGregor for using 'his' persona to further himself in the UFC. After multiple fighters were unable to take up the UFC 196 fight with McGregor, Diaz was drafted in as a replacement and Conor jumped up to 170 to take the Stockton native on.

After McGregor lost that match-up, the rematch was set for UFC 202 at the same weight. The blood was most definitely bad by this point and things came to a head on the Wednesday press conference before their titanic return bout.

McGregor, ever the mind game merchant, arrived to the conference late, Diaz felt he'd had enough and left the stage. Diaz gave McGregor the finger and the two went back and forth verbally before Diaz decided to throw a water bottle at the Notorious one. McGregor, never one to be outdone, launched every water bottle and Monster can he could find at his rival, creating a kind of bedlam that combat sports had not experienced before.

A bottle fight.

McGregor was quick to comment that his reasons for his actions were only to offer up 'some hydration for the people'.
