10 UFC Veterans That Challenge Their Age

6. Yoel Romero

Although the Cuban hasn’t fought an abundance of fights within the UFC, the sheer power and physique Yoel Romero displays in his bouts, even at the age of 43, truly displays a defiance of age.

Despite what we can all agree was a bizarre and lacklustre performance against Israel Adesanya in UFC 248’s main event, Soldier of God has shown his abilities when the cage door shuts and is by no means over his head at the top of the middleweight rankings.

Outside of MMA, Romero is a former world gold medalist and Olympic silver medalist wrestler and holds six world and Olympic medals in total. Romero’s success has certainly translated across sports, as KO wins over Lyoto Machida, Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold exposed.

As the middleweight gold continues to evade him, Romero will look to bounce back from his loss to Adesanya in a rumoured bout with the experienced Uriah Hall in August.
