In December 1997, Owen Hart made his return to WWE after the controversial Montreal Screwjob sent his brother Bret to WCW and immediately targeted Shawn Michaels. When Michaels moved on to bigger and better things, namely defending his heavyweight championship, Hart segued into a rivalry with HBK's D-Generation X teammate Triple H. Together, they developed an intensely personal feud over the European Championship that would culminate into big pay-per-view matches in spring 1998. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x10l5nq_owen-hart-vs-triple-h-wrestlemania-14_sport At WrestleMania, Hart appeared well on his way to finishing he degenerate champion off and enjoying a happy ending to his family's tragic story until Chyna interfered, delivered a nasty low blow and watched as Triple H delivered a Pedigree for the win. A month later at Unforgiven, Hart once again suffered a devastating loss courtesy of well-timed interference by a revamped D-Generation X. It appeared to be a heartbreaking conclusion to the rivalry, the nail in Hart's attempt at revenge, but an attitude change and an alliance with The Nation presented the second-generation star with one more shot at redemption. At Over the Edge in May, he pinned Triple H in a huge tag team bout, using his own Pedigree finisher against him to do so. The win provided Hart with a bit of closure and served as one last "F you" to his heated rivalry.
