Bubba Ray Dudley seemed incredibly excited to be back in WWE. He was lobbying hard on Twitter for months before it finally came to fruition. His dream came true, and he’d get to ride out the rest of his wrestling days as a national star.

Things haven't gone quite to plan.

From a character standpoint Bubba did the best work of his career in the last chapters of his TNA run as Bully Ray. That character would have been great in WWE, feuding with top babyfaces like John Cena and Roman Reigns. But management wasn't interested. They wanted a Dudley Boyz reunion instead. They’re basically mid-card tag team fodder at the moment, which is a bit of a waste.

In Lucha, Ray would likely be much closer to his Bully character. Overall, their roster is filled with smaller competitors, which would be perfect for Ray to push around and beat up. His mic skills are vastly underutilized in WWE, and it would be interesting to see what Lucha would do with him by introducing him once more to an ECW-like environment.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
