10 Underutilized WCW Stars Who Deserved Better

2. Mike Awesome

WCW seemed to have the right idea when they acquired Mike Awesome. A fresh face to many fans, Awesome had a great look and unbelievable agility as well as an offense in which could impress anyone. Upon his debut Awesome laid out established star Kevin Nash. After wins over Hulk Hogan and Booker T, Awesome looked to be well on his way to superstardom in WCW. Just weeks later he'd be given a gimmick of a fat-chick thriller from the 1970's. You really can't make up some of the things WCW did. Eventually Awesome would be given a much better "Career Killer" gimmick which he got over as a member of Team Canada. Unfortunately for all involved WCW was already well on its way to going out of business and Awesome's career never fully recovered.
