10 Underwhelming Wrestlers Who Held Legendary Titles.

5. Xavier

Mongo Us Champion
Ring Of Honor

No one knew quite what to expect of Ring of Honor when it debuted in 2002.

As the offshoot of a VHS trading company, few could have anticipated that the promotion would quickly go on to define a new age of American professional wrestling.

Early ROH shows were a collection of jaw dropping matches that appeared light years removed from the recently defunct ECW - and John Jirus was an integral part of them.

Competing as Xavier, Jirus, a 7-year pro upon entering ROH in 2002, didn't appear at first to be out of place in the hybrid matches that featured the likes of Low Ki, Brian Kendrick, Amazing Red, and AJ Styles, and soon defeated the inaugural champion Low Ki to become the second ROH titleholder.

Xavier wasn't a bad wrestler at all, but compared to the company he was keeping as champion, it soon became clear that he was an evidently less dynamic performer. That apparently was good enough reason for ROH fans to turn on him.

Losing the championship to Samoa Joe after a forgettable six month reign, Xavier disappeared from ROH during 2004 and aside from a few sporadic appearances, the last of which came in 2007, was never seen again.
