10 Unexpected Betrayals At WWE Survivor Series

7. Bad News Brown (1988)

Realistically, it was only a matter of time before we got our first inadvertent-punch-of-the-partner spot, and in Bad News Brown’s desertion at the 1988 Survivor Series we have our first example.

With Bad News holding up a dazed Sam Houston, his partner Greg “the Hammer” Valentine hit the ropes and swung for the fences with a clubbing blow. Somewhat predictably, Houston ducked and it was Bad News who took the Hammer’s hammer, prompting some fisticuffs between the partners that forced the rest of their teammates to get involved.

The Honky Tonk Man and the Ron “the Outlaw” Bass entered the fray to try to calm things down but obviously they didn’t do a very good job. Bad News walked out on his team in a hissy fit, contributing to their eventual loss when the Ultimate Warrior finished off both Valentine and Bass to pick up the win.

Obviously this was more of an accident than the Big Show or Vader’s aforementioned strikes, but that didn’t mean Bad News was feeling any more forgiving.
